The fastest, easiest and most reliably way to Migrate (transfer) to a new Mac. Is to plug your external Time Machine backup drive into the new Mac and Migrate from it during the initial setup.

Using a direct ethernet to ethernet cable is another way to Migrate during the initial setup, but it is slower than using your external Time Machine backup drive.

Using your local Wi-Fi network is another way, but it is really slow and is prone to fail during large Migrations.
