Is there a way to correct a glare on a photo?

MacBook Pro. OS 14.3.1. I took a picture of a photo of my husband and one of his horses, which had appeared in a magazine. The only problem is that there is some glare on the top left side. Is there any way to correct or lessen, the glare?

Thank you

Glares are very difficult to correct. The problem you run into, is that of overexposure. You have more white dots which could repesent any color that need to be corrected. If the glare has color in each dot, you can try to see if forcing underexposure works.

Apple Photos offers some tools, which I'd only use on a copy of the file:

Adjust a photo’s light, exposure, and more in Photos on Mac - Apple Support

http://www.lemkesoft.com/ GraphicConverter is a wonderful shareware for editing images beyond Photo's ability to do so.

There are numerous AI apps that do photo correction on the App Store that I haven't tried.
