What does the small green dot in the upper right hand of my ipad screen indicate? Is someone listening and/or looking in?

The green dot that appears at upper-right of the iPad screen indicates that an App is accessing the iPad's camera hardware - or the camera and microphone.

To be clear, the dot does not indicate that the camera is necessarily active - but an open App is able to access the camera.

A similar orange dot will appear when an App is just using your iPad microphone.
