If your device is Jailbroken your device is vulnerable to attacks.

Sharing your International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) and IMEI2 (if applicable) can potentially have security implications, especially for your iPhone X. Here are some concerns and potential risks:

  1. Device Tracking and Location: Malicious individuals or entities could use the IMEI to track the location of your iPhone. This can compromise your privacy and potentially lead to unauthorized access.
  2. Identity Theft: Although the IMEI is specific to your device, it's essential to be cautious about sharing such information online. It's a piece of data that can be misused in conjunction with other personal information to carry out identity theft or fraud.
  3. Unauthorized Access: In some cases, hackers may attempt to use the IMEI to gain unauthorized access to your device or its data. This could involve various techniques, such as attempting to clone your device.
  4. IMEI Blacklisting: If your IMEI is associated with a lost, stolen, or compromised device, it could be reported to authorities or your mobile carrier. This may result in your device being blacklisted, making it unusable on certain networks.
  5. Phishing Attacks: Scammers may use your IMEI to conduct phishing attacks or other social engineering schemes. For example, they could send you messages claiming to be from your mobile carrier and asking for sensitive information.

Given these potential risks, it's advisable to be cautious about sharing your IMEI and IMEI2. If you've already shared this information and are concerned about your security, here are some steps you can take:

  • Contact your Mobile Carrier: Reach out to your mobile carrier and inform them about the situation. They may be able to guide any necessary steps, such as monitoring your account for suspicious activity or taking preventive measures.
  • Change Passwords: Ensure that your Apple ID password and other relevant passwords are strong and secure. Consider changing them to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): If you haven't already, enable two-factor authentication for your Apple ID and any other accounts associated with your iPhone.
  • Monitor Account Activity: Regularly check your accounts for any unusual or unauthorized activity. If you notice anything suspicious, take immediate action to secure your accounts.
  • Report Suspicious Activity: If you believe you are a victim of a scam or phishing attempt, report it to the relevant authorities and your mobile carrier.

Remember to stay vigilant and take proactive steps to protect your personal information and device security.

The question is why did you share? With whom did you share?

Disclosing your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) and IMEI2 (if applicable for dual SIM iPhones) doesn't inherently compromise the security of your iPhone. However, potential security risks may arise based on the individuals or entities with whom you've shared this information.
