Hi, is it OK to use my MacBook Air 30W adaptor to charge my new iPhone 15? Or should I purchase a separate adaptor?

I bought an iPhone 15 which came with a lighting cable. However, I did not purchase a separate adaptor as I have my MacBook Air 30W one at home.

Is it OK or will it reduce the lifespan of my iPhone 15 battery?

iPhone 15, iOS 17

To fast charge, you need an iPhone 15 model with a USB-C cable like the one that came in the box, or an earlier iPhone model with a USB-C to Lightning cable and one of these adapters:

  • Apple 18W,* 20W, 29W, 30W, 35W, 61W, 67W, 87W or 96W, or 140W USB-C Power Adapter
  • A comparable third-party USB-C power adapter that supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD)

Fast charging might not work in conditions that are too cold or too hot.

If you're not sure which Apple Power Adapter you have, check the wattage on the top or bottom of the adapter:
