My Apple wired keyboard a1243 is not working Mac mini M1. It does show up in the system information as version 0.74. Can anyone help?
I don't have an M1 but when this happened to me a few weeks ago I corrected it by carefully cleaning the cord's USB connection. I used an alcohol dampened toothpick then allowed it to air dry.
It works on every other pc and/or Mac, it doesn't need 5000 batteries per month and it types absolutely lovely, it's near brand new so I don't want to make it go to waste. If I can't get it to work I'll see if I can make some else happy by selling it.
That keyboard is obsolete and no longer supported. Why not buy new?

Thank you for the tip, I will get some tomorrow and give that a go. If that doesn't work I'll try with that extension cord, and if that doesn't work I'll sell it. or @apple make a fix?

You're welcome. I hope the cleaning works for you and whatever the outcome of that is, I saw your post that you won't let it go to waste. It's a good keyboard. ( I doubt @apple would make a fix. )
Dig out and use the USB extension cable that originally came with that Apple keyboard.
