reset passcode on phone

I switched to new a Iphone and want to give my old device to a family member and the passcode that I thought

I had is not working,

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17

Before you give away an iPhone, you should have fully erased it before you give it to them. This is a good opportunity to do that, by following the directions in this link --> If you forgot your iPhone passcode, use your Mac or PC to reset it - Apple Support


Once erased, then the person you gave the phone too, can set it up for themselves, with their own Apple ID.
