Is there a way to exchange a wrong size sports band with Apple?

Yesterday I bought a brand new S9 Apple Watch (Product) Red M/L to realise it’s actually loose on my wrist on the tightest hole. Is there a way I can exchange the sport band for a S/M? I’m M usually but this sizing has confused me . In the past Apple gave us two sized band in one box but now it’s really hard cos now it’s only one band clubbed with the two sizes which makes it harder and if we end up being in the medium range it’s a gamble. I was really excited to buy my S9 but now a little disappointed ☹️ with my purchase as the watch sits crooked on my wrist.
