If you can find a solution to spam texts you would deserve a Nobel Prize. They aren’t going to stop, however, because they are big business. John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight a couple of weeks ago dug into the spam text business, which mostly originates from Myanmar, is amazingly effective in scamming people out of huge sums of money, and accounts for roughly half of the gross national product for that country.
What you should do is not respond to any text that says “hello” or "Hi Cindy, how are you?” or similar. Don’t say you aren’t Cindy, just forward the text without responding to 7726 (SPAM) and delete it. That won’t solve the problem, but will keep you safe.
