How to identify and avoid fake MacBook Pro Security Alerts

I get pop up messages from Safari that my MacPro is in danger. I think it is fake. They want to let me push on a link to scan the laptop. How do i get rid of this? The website behind it is "rotackald.com"

Did you block the Notifications or only the Pop-Up Windows?

If it looks like the messages in this Support Article, then it is the Notification that needs to be set to not allow.
