Macbook iMessage Storage

Really need to figure out how to solve this, its super annoying that my MacBook is set to "optimize storage" with iMessage, yet "optimize storage" really means "take up as much space as possible.

Next time I'll know not to buy the lowest end MacBook air storage option...

It just doesn't seem to make sense that this is stored locally when its supposed to be in the cloud

Just really annoyed with seeing this when theres no real way to remove the local copy of the Message clog
