How to locate lost AirPods?

I placed pods in lost mode but now they’re delinked on my phone. They appear as “offline” on iCloud findme. My partner who uses my Apple ID also found that her pods did not appear on her phone. They do appear on iCloud findme. She tried to reconnect her iPods but couldn’t. Is it possible that someone found my pods and disconnected them from my Apple ID?
