Error “An unknown error has occurred” when I try to log in to Messenger on my iPad

Messenger stopped working on my iPad. I deleted it and reinstalled it but still get “an unknown error has occurred”when I try to log in

I get “an unknown error has occurred”. I deleted it and reinstalled it but I still get the same error message.
