folder com.apple.bird/…/…/MMCS is killing me

Hello,

I am searching the web for quite a while and I cannot find any solution for my problem.

I have a MacBook 12-inch running with Version 12.7.4 (21H1122) and I would love to use it because of its size.

It has a 500GB SSD and the folder is huge . about 166GB (16MB left). It would get bigger if it could.

I disabled Time Machine and this seam to work. As I started my Mac it was MMCS was again 166GB big.

Writing this text here it got down to 44MB (300GB free).

This is not healthy for the SSD and energy consuming as well. For a small MacBook not the best.

Is there anyone who can explain me this and does have anyone an idea how to handle it?
