Столкнулся с такой проблемой, что анимированные (видео-обои) не работают на рабочем столе, а когда блокируешь мак, то они работают (воспроизводят дальше анимацию). Кто подскажите, в чем дело?

you're probably thinking of the screen saver, because the wallpaper does not move on desktop.
the wall paper on lock screen does move, but on desktop it does not to eliminate distractions, preserve battery, etc.
so it is not going to move on desktop

Before the updates, they worked fine, even if I was on the desktop
they really are beautiful
i recently switched from a MBP that was on macOS Monterey to one that is now on Sonoma. i now have some experience with these screen savers.
