Apple Music via Airplay 2 lossy “bug”

Since Apple Music Airplay does not send lossless to Airplay 2 receivers, but AAC 256 instead, and Apple has said, some months/years ago, they would fix this; where can users go to see a schedule for when this will be repaired in an update?

Equally, when will Apple send 24/48 or 24/96 lossless to non Apple Airplay receivers capable of that resolution?

Also, will non Apple Airplay 2 receivers as the playback device with these updates become part of the Control Other… menu option for playback (similar to “Connect” like on other streaming services)? An example might be playing Apple Music from phone but the Airplay on an AVR takes over for playback. Cutting Airplay out.

100% agree - this mind blowing that Apple Music on iOS can’t stream (at the very least) lossless via Airplay 2. Why offer AM up to true HiRes but make it virtually impossible to access.

I’ve heard this was going to be fixed in a software update, but nothing as of iOS 17.

Also, why no “Apple Connect”, similar to Tidal and Spotify Connect, so it can be natively integrated into 3rd party systems. Would only make AM more popular.

I feel like these are unnecessary problems to have in 2024…
