Unable to send/deliver smart replies from Apple Watch

Hello!

Whenever my friend finishes a workout, I get a notification on my Apple Watch and since I have “smart replies” on, I have the option to give them a reaction. However, even though I send the response on my Apple Watch, my friend never receives the smart replies. I have already tried to restart my Apple Watch and I also have my iMessage on, yet the smart replies are never sent/delivered to the second person.

Any ideas how I could fix this? Thank you!

Have you checked to make sure all the settings are set properly under iMessage in the watch app?

If it is all working, you may need to contact the real apple support or reset your Apple Watch to factory settings. I do not recommended resetting the Apple Watch before getting it looked at by a professional

Yes, I believe all the settings are set properly - when I sent a smart reply to a finished workout, I can see it in our iMessage communication (e.g. on my iPhone) that it was sent, however the recepient says that she has not received anything from me. When she checked it with a third person, she received those smart replies without any issues.
