Two numbers, same contact card: Can both parties see the text messages from me and the other number?

I have two phone numbers under the same contact card. When I text one number, does the other number receive that message too? And can the other number see the messages sent to me from the other number on the contact card?

Messages sent to a specific contact are being delivered to a different phone number When I text one contact the number reverts to another contact. I have deleted both from my iPhone 16 pro max and it still happens even with just the phone number. I have also deleted all messages from these specific numbers. It is only happening with these numbers. Both contacts are in the same household and use family sharing. I have been troubleshooting with Apple for about a week but they stopped attempting to set up troubleshooting. I checked both the other phones myself and can’t find any discrepancies that would explain why when you message one number it shows the other number and visa versa. IOS Combining Text Tread for same contact - Copy from an older question Hey everyone, So I updated my phone to iOS 13 recently and I noticed a change in the Messaging app. Before updating, say I have co workers with a work phone (regular texts) and a personal iPhone (iMessage) The texts would show up separately in two messages. Even if the person has two androids or any non iPhone. It would still show as two separate texts. So that way I know who I’m texting or at least know what we’re talking about on what phone. But now, it seems that the iPhone messaging app has merge all those texts into one thread or text message. So that one contacts texts from say 2 phones or even 4, for example are all under one thread in the messaging app. To summarize it, if I text Joe on his work phone all day about work stuff and then he turns it off and after a certain time I text his personal phone, but both would show up under one text message with all the messages from each number into one text. I can select which number to text so I know what number I’m texting initially but the messages are all combined! So knowing which number you’re sending to isn’t a problem but RECEIVING from which number is completely gone. Anyone else with this? Is it the iOS update or my phone? Or setting? Thank you in advance!

Unless both numbers / devices are sharing the same Apple ID and therefore sharing SMS Texts / iMessages etc. This probably does not apply to the original post.
