I watch Apple TV+ using a sky box. I am signed in, but do not have a subscription. I do however buy movies & shows through iTunes, which should be available to watch via the app (they are on my Roku for example).
any ideas how I can watch my purchased movies using the Sky box version of the app?

Which edition is available on devices, depends on the exact brand and model — it is not user choice, but an agreement between the manufacturer and Apple. E.g.: the Sky hardware gets the Apple TV+ app, Roku gets the Apple TV app. Some modern smart TVs get the Apple TV app, while slightly older smart TVs get the Apple TV+ app.

Thanks for the quick reply. Makes things clear. Only in the modern world do you lose content in the version dubbed ‘+’ lol.
