Apple TV Podcast App Broken

The Apple TV podcast app has been broken for years. It does not sync properly across with other devices I listen to podcasts on. This has been years!!! Please fix this bug already!! And if you can’t fix that then allow us to manually remove. This app has been horrible for a long time.

The app doesn't bookmark any progress on an shows on the Apple TV+ app which is ridiculous. Streaming apps are supposed to make things simpler and easier not even worse than VHS cassette tapes which at least would retain your progress if you pressed stop. The canned Apple support answer is to remove and reinstall app. Doing this does not change anything.

Is Apple Podcast app no longer a supported app on the desktop? Is it possible to delete the Podcast app and reinstall it on a desktop, running Cat. ver. 10.15.7
