I deleted the printer from the IMac as it lost wireless connection. I am trying to reinstall it. The printer is connected to my network, however, the computer does not connect to the printer.

The computer recognizes the printer, all is working fine !!!!!!!! I did a factory reset on the printer, turned it off an back on, re-entered the WiFi connection and my Network info, all is now working !!!! I am a happy camper !!!!! Thanks VERY MUCH for all the help - truly appreciated !!!!!!

I tried the rebooting and turned everything back on in the order suggested, still computer does not recognize the printer.... The Printer shows Network connection successful.... The Network name on the Printer is the same as the computer, however the IP address showing on the printer is different than on the computer... Should they be the same ??? I don't know how to change it.....

Now you're getting above my pay grade.
Unless & until the HP shows an address of 192.168.12.xxx, your printer and/or your router is the issue. So, troubleshoot accordingly - look at the HP manual and reset the printer to factory if necessary.

Yes, I followed the instructions. When I click on "add a Printer", my printer does not appear. When I enter the name of my printer, it is not found...
Try rebooting your router, iMac and anything else in between, might fix.
Try what hcsitas suggested: turn every thing off and restart in this order: modem, router and then the Mac.
Yes - can you snapshot both please? Power-cycle the printer before you do.

The IP address you are seeing on your Mac belongs to your Mac - all good. However, the printer IP doesn’t look right - did you power-cycle the printer?
