French Quotation Marks keyboard shortcut

Another approach is to use either an Automator or Shortcuts Quick Action that allows one to just select the text to receive the French Guillemet and the action automatically replaces that text with the Guillemet enclosing it. This can be shortened to a single keyboard shortcut.

Thanks. You can of course tell your keyboard to morph into a French AZERTY configuration, in which case the quotation mark switches from «  to <<, but your solution is much easier.
