“You can’t copy the item [name of SSD drive folder] because its name is too long or includes character that are invalid on the destination volume”

I am trying to temporarily move files between two SSD drives, but keep getting this error:

“You can’t copy the item Sandisk G-Drive SSD because its name is too long or includes character that are invalid on the destination volume”

I have done some workarounds in the past including renaming some Final Cut Pro libraries, but is this issue beyond Final Cut Pro?

Thank you in advance!

I have a 2019 Intel Macbook Pro, Sonoma

that names as posted here is not too long or prohibited, PROVIDED you are copying to a Mac-format drive.

Does it have special characters that show as blanks? You could try changing the name and typing something very similar, just to assure yourself that there are no special characters. is the destination a FAT or ExFAT drive?

is it actually a folder and not something wacky like a sparse bundle disk image?
