Recently, I've been wanting to add my song collection from my iOS devices (in my case an iPad) to my Windows via iTunes. However, I cannot find an option that lets me copy or import the songs from my iPad directly to my computer in a way that it includes the many .mp3 albums I downloaded free and then synced to the iPad.

iTunes has no native method for importing from a portable device. The music files on a device are encoded in such a way that Windows cannot recover the music in playable form.
