Can’t find external hard drive on iPhone 14 Pro Max

I have a 4 TB my passport for Mac external hard drive. It is cleared. It has been reformatted. I bought the proper plug. The one with the power source and the USB. It’s an apple product when I plug my external hard drive into my Mac it shows up I’m able to see all of its information and how it’s formatted, when I plug it into my iPhone, I can’t find it anywhere. I have searched. It’s not showing up in my files and it’s not showing up when I searched for the title of it in my search bar I want to connect the external hard drive to my iPhone and transfer the pictures from my iPhone to the external hard drive . It’s formatted at (macOS extended Journaled)

I reformatted it to (FAT) and all of a sudden 2 TB was gone so I reformat it back to macOS extended Journaled. Again, it shows up on my Mac but not on my iPhone. Can someone help? What am I doing wrong?
