Will I be able to restore my iPad 9 from a iPad 6 despite it being dead?

iPad version 6 completely dead all of a sudden, even plugged in. 5 1/2 yrs old so bought a version 9. Will my daya transfer over? I do have iCloud backup also a iPhone 15. Few things on my iPad I don’t have on phone!

About backups for iOS devices - Apple Support - "You can copy and save the data on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch by backing up your device in iCloud or iTunes. If you replace your device, you can use its backup to transfer your information to a new device."

You can restore an old device backup to a newer device, but not the reverse.

If you have a backup, you transfer the info from that backup, the old iPad would not be involved and it does not matter if is dead in that case.
