After update to iOS 17.4, tapping the back of the iPhone does not start reading screen

One of my family members uses trice tap back function to read screen (blind person) and it worked fine up until iOS 17.4 but now tapping does nothing even thou it is still selected as function to launch.

Enabling controler does read screen as usual, but it is "hard" to tap on a controler when someone is blind.
