There is no process to check it, but if you are missing a digit on the code, Apple will be able to assist in redeeming the card to your Apple account. Just use the same link that has been provided here and follow the steps for when your card is unreadable.

Use the same link that has been provided here many times for issues with your Gift Card that is unreadable. You will need to send a picture of the front/back of the card and include the serial number and they will assist in redeeming the card to your account.
