I have my apple tv synced to an older computer which is the primary library. I want to sync all my content onto a new computer i have and am not sure how to do so as itunes on my new computer recognizes it as a secondary library. Suggestions please.

I was thinking of disconnecting my old comp as the primary computer but a message said that it would delete all content synced from that older Itunes. I assume this means all my movies/tv shows would be deleted on apple tv. Is this assumption right?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

    yes.

you need to break the link to the old, and pair your Apple TV to the new computer, then re-sync the content.

however, using an ethernet cable to connect new computer and Apple TV would make syncing content real fast.

as for transferring your iTunes library, assuming the new computer is a Mac, the simplest way would be to connect the two Macs with a firewire cable, boot the source Mac in _*Target Disk Mode*_, and copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder) from <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music on the source to <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music on the target (overwriting the iTunes folder in place there).
