I have an old iphone 5 and a Mac air 13. I have forgotten the passcode and it says iPhone Disabled, connect to ITunes I cannot download ITunes for this Mac. Can anyone help please?

Use the Finder as described in Use the Finder to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your Mac: "If your Mac is using macOS Catalina or later, you can use the Finder on your Mac to sync content between your Mac and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The experience is similar to using iTunes to sync in earlier versions of macOS."
Be sure to follow the instructions listed in If you can't update or restore your iPhone or iPod touch.
Thank you. When I do this, it asks if I trust this device, I click Trust. Then it says to Trust on the phone, but it won't show there because it still says disabled
