Hi, has anyone else had the issue I’ve now got.
all fine before 17.4 but since updating, Atmos is now broken.
it will show up correctly on receiver as Dolby atmos but it’s only coming out in stereo. Surround speakers are silent.
I also tried and changed audio setup to force Dolby digital 5.1. Again, only stereo now and not multichannel. No issue though prior to this update.

Please delete this post. I have restarted my Apple TV and receiver a couple of times and seems to have cleared the bug. Atmos now working again.

Similar issue and I found that if I unplug the HDMi cable and put it back all is good until the next session. I have an Apple TV 4K Anthem AVR and projector. I believe this all started with 17.4 as nothing else has changed. The fix is easy but I have to do it every single time I power the system up. No reboots of any equipment seem to fix it.
Seen similar issue after update.
On 17.4 atmos content work if it is the first content after the tv turns on. If I watch an ordinary thing first and want to watch atmos then I need to reboot the TV. This started after update.
Have a Sonos Arc and an LG G2 where this is happening.
I was able to fix it by switching back-and-forth the various audio settings randomly until suddenly it said "Atmos off" while the first option on that page was on.
At that point, I enabled both and everything worked. It's really strange and I don't know how to repro this. Something about that Atmos on off functionality being oddly sticky.
Yes, same for me. No sound on anything with Dolby Atmos, if it’s another 5.1 source then only stereo is outputted.
My Denon works flawlessly with Blu-rays and the apps in my LG OLED so this is clearly a bug in the Apple TV 17.4 firmware.
Same issue. Restarting the AppleTV will “fix” it or unplugging the HDMI and back in, but anytime I bring it out of sleep mode it’s stuck in stereo mode for all apps.
Audio NOT working properly since 17.4 update. Change Format set to “off”. Dolby Atmos set to “off”. Only outputs stereo on any source. With Dolby Atmos “on” no audio on Atmos encodes.
Rebooted ATV and AVR, worked for awhile, then quit again.
You’re lucky you have sound. I’m not getting any sound at the moment hence I can’t watch any title that has Dolby Atmos. Someone please help. I’ve restarted a couple of times and I’ve even disconnected from power, no luck
I have exactly the same problem. Rebooted Apple TV several times, nothing. It would play an Apple TV+ in Dolby atmos first thing and as soon as I try to watch something in Dolby atmos after that, no sound at all.
Same, any titles with Atmos on Netflix and Amazon Prime output no sound.
If I force 5.1 and disable Atmos on the appletv I can get 5.1. This was working before. Netflix and Prime are ok on my Xbox and Blu-Ray. Apple please fix!
Same issues man. They need an update quick to fix this bug. As of now can’t watch anything in atmos
Has the TVOS17.4.1 update changed anything? I'm away from home so I can't check
The last available update (in Sweden at least) is the tvOS 17.4 (21L227)

Same here 17.4 broke it.. Samsung Sonos atv4 … please fix.. almost useless now ..reset everything multiple times did the usual ****.,💩.. still no atmos
