Quitting Shared album

I am the owner of a shared album. But now I want to leave the shared album but I do not want to delete the whole shared album.

(that is, can I just leave the shared album while others in the album can still get access to the album?)

The owner of a Shared album cannot leave it, just delete it completely. The owner is responsible to manage the Shared album and is the only one who has the necessary rights to delete offending comments or images, or to remove redundant images, when the album is getting too large. If you want to leave a shared album, delete it. Announce it to the subscribers and tell them, how long they have to save the pictures they want to keep, before you remove the album.
