Strange New Mail Folder

A new mail folder appeared today. I circled in yellow…looks like a trash bin with “x” and is called Junk, not to be confused with my mailbox which I call Junk.

Can anyone tell me where it came from and more important, how to get rid of it? Thanks.

Where did my Mail junk folder go? In my Mail program, I don't see a Junk Folder. I have INBOX, DRAFTS, SENT and TRASH, in that order from the top, but there is no Junk folder listed. I checked in both Settings > Mail, and the settings in the Mail app itself, but can’t find where to get it back. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Mail creating a trash folder Two days ago a folder appeared in the Mail favorites list labeled trash. Mysterious and I deleted the mail box. Turned out it apparently migrated out of my All Trash for iCloud, it's missing and I don't know how to replace it. The iCloud account has the trash folder. Today there was another folder labeled trash that appeared when I was not looking and I searched ALL trash and each email account and none missing. So I deleted that and now it remains as a "ghost" image. Cannot be selected, but strangely it can be dragged to the top of favorites, above All inboxes or to the very bottom of All Favorites and not placed anywhere else. MalwareBytes says I am clean. Any thoughts?

The Junk folder is a standard/expected mailbox that will be seen when using an IMAP or POP3 mail account.

Ok, but why did it just show up on wife's iPad but not mine? Configuration has not changed on either ipad for years. Also, can I delete or hide it?
