I have a subscription that I canceled but I am not able to get a refund

Hi, I have a Duolingo account I have been using for a while and without realizing I signed up for a 1 year plan, I have since canceled the subscription but it says that it will still run until next March, and I cannot figure out how to cancel it right now. For the year it was $90 and I would rather pay the subscription per month/ and have a choice each month if I want to get it or not.is there any way I can change my subscription type and get a refund back?

Cancel the entire subscription and then when that is done, resubscribe at the desired level.

• "If you signed up for a free or discounted trial subscription and you don't want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends."

• An existing subscription will normally continue until the end of its term and may then renew automatically. Stopping automatic renewal is effectively canceling it. "If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, then the subscription is already canceled and won't renew." The "Expires" date means the current subscription will just run until then.

• Read the article to see what to do about subscriptions that do not appear in your list. If you still can't find a subscription, contact Apple Support using the link at the end of the support article.

• Canceling a subscription does not automatically start a refund.
