How to update Fire TV system for Apple TV app compatibility

When I open the Apple TV app, I am continuously blocked by an error message requesting that I update Fire TV software. I can't log in. I've reset Fire TV system software, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, reset the TV, cleared the data and cache and unplugged the TV. I spent significant time with Amazon support and they punted me over to Apple. I don't want my Apple TV subscription if I can't watch it on my TV.

For what model Fire TV streaming device or Fire TV smart TV is this happening?

What is its current version Fire OS?

Unless someone else chimes in with current Fire TV expertise, I would suggest to contact an expert from the Apple Support staff for further assistance. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (chat/email/callback).

I am running into this problem also. Apple TV app says my Fire TV needs an update. When I go to settings and check for an update. It says it is up to date. I have tried clearing cache and data. Uninstalling Apple TV app. Hard reset of the tv. Nothing seems to work.
