colour correction between different camera clips in multicam edits

hi there,


i have recordings of sony and cvc cameras to be edited in multicam edit in fcp. are there any suggestions, best practices or readymade effects that will be useful?


sample clips can be provided.


sony clips see to be colour corrected and jvc clips are blend.


thanks in advance...


p.s. how to insert clips in these posts? will retransfer do?

I got the files. Match Color doesn't work on this. The JVC seems quite cold to me. I used the Balance Color function and used the white of his suit in the JVC front shot. That seemed like a good starting point and pulled it closer to the Sony. (A bit odd as I usually find Sonys have a colder look.) As Ben said use the Color Wheels to balance the color. You can afford to push the overall luma up quite a lot. They shouldn't be too hard to tweak.

Is the Sony clip the same model as the one you asked about before? The original must have been an older format shot in 2011. I have edited the sample you sent me. At that time, there was no problem with proper exposure.


⚫︎[QuickTime export] vs [FCP export]


When I play the original with FCP and QuickTime, do the colors change in both? I don't know about the JVC clip because I haven't seen the original.
