Why GIF search does not work on my iPhone?

#images search (gifs) missing from my iPhone after updating to 17.3.1

My wife and I both found that the #images (gif search) was missing from our messages. Everything else still seems to be there. I have attempted searching for it as a keyboard and checking more options under the text add ins without success. We have also tried rebooting our phones as well. As per some other suggestions, we have checked and it is not under stickers either. I have also made sure to update my phone to the most recent OS on 17.4. Has anyone else experienced this/have a solution you found worked? I need IOS to give back them sweet sweet gifs, we live and die by the gif over here

Look into getting the Tenor gif search, it's much more useful than the silly built in Apple search. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gif-keyboard/id917932200

See the + sign next to the enter text box? Tap it and look for #images.

I use both.

I think I may know what happened. Go to Settings > General > Keyboards

See if the Gif Keyboard is there and if not tap Add New Keyboard and add it back.

I don't understand why the standard Gif Keyboard can't be found. When you look at the installed Keyboards, do you have English (US)?

More lists the second picture provided. Doesn’t seem to be anywhere on the list. I’ll go ahead and try tenor as well. At this point I just need the animated gif goodness without having to download each individual picture I’m hunting for

To make sure we are talking about the same thing, I have installed tenor and that gif keyboard shows up and functions. The built in gif search does not show in the keyboard list at all when viewing my current keyboards or attempting to add a new one

I apologize. I meant to attach images originally. I’m aware how it should work, but it is missing entirely from the list of options. I have updated the post to reflect this.
