Photo syncing from iCloud is very slow to my iPad Pro 2020. Also seems to be slow to sync mail too.

Restart your router
Do you mean you remove the VPN profile every time you come home? or just “turn it off” which is ineffective.
Do you have any ad-blockers installed? They can use VPN. Ditto any so-called security apps.
Have you actually tested the speed on the ipad with a speed app that it really is 1Gbps?
At least you have proved the problem in on your ipad, not on iCloud, concentrate on that
Thank you for your quick response. Unfortunately, none of the solutions helped. My internet speed is 1 Gig. I do not use a VPN at home - only on public Wi-Fi. I restarted the router but with no effect. There is no issue with any of the other Apple products (iPhones or MacBook Air) only this iPad Pro. Ive also noticed the email is slow too. I’ve checked my settings and everything looks like it’s syncing properly to the cloud. What am I missing?
