Cannot empty recycle bin because the folder is in use

Hi,

Yesterday I deleted TinyTake app and after that I was not able to fully empty recycle bin.

It has left a folder called "Resources" in recycle bin that has another file in it "oneclick_icon.tiff" that keeps recreating.

Whenever I try to empty the recycle bit it says "The operation cannot be completed because the folder "Resources" is in use".

Do you have any suggestion on how I can get rid of this leftover in the recycle bin?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.4

You need to use a complete UNINSTALLER to completely remove all traces of the app. Just deleting the app won't do the job completely. You might need to contact Mangoapps to see if they can provide such an uninstaller. Also see this:

You can also search (use Find Any File, it searches in some places that Spotlight does not search) to find all instances of anything related to TinyTake or Mangoapps, snd delete all those files. Check your login items, startup items (there are multiple folders with startup items) ... this can be quite tedious. I would contact the company that provides the app and ask them for a complete uninstaller for the Mac. They have one for PCs on their site but I don't see one for a Mac.

You might also look at all processes in Activity Monitor and look for anything related to this app or its developer, and kill those process. Then try emptying the Trash. You could try this from Safe Mode if it doesn't work in normal mode.

Another thing to try: right click on the folder in the Trash and select Put Back.

Then search for oneclick_icon.tiff using Find Any File to locate where it is located and delete its enclosing folder and empty the trash. You can also try to force empty the Trash by holding the option key while emptying the Trash.

There is a terminal command:

sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/*

This command has spaces that must be included and one needs to be careful with the rm command. It deletes all Trash contents.
