AddressBookSourceSync Continually Using 99%+ of CPU and Won't Go Away! Please Help!

I saw several postings about this problem in the past, but none of them seem to apply to my current Macbook Air, which is running Sonoma 14.3.1 I need updated instructions for solving this problem.

AddressBookSourceSync keeps running, using up 99% or more of my CPU, and won't go away. It's really slowing down my machine. In the Activity Montior, I "Force Quit" it several times in a row, which seems to make it disappear for some period of time, but it spawns again and will run for hours until I "Force Quit" it again several times in a row. Please see the screenshots and code, which I posted below in a separate post.

Of course I searched the web for a fix. There are instructions, but they seem to only apply to previous operating systems, not to my current system.

Some people have suggested disassociating the Contacts application from syncing to the Third Party Source like Google. Well, I looked in all of my Google accounts (email and otherwise) and they are not set to sync anywhere as far as I can tell. (If you have found this answer to be the fix, maybe I'm missing something. Where did you look to disassociate the Contacts application from syncing to Third Party Sources???)

I'm tired of this. Please, how can I make it stop? At the Apple Store, they told me to upgrade my laptop from Ventura to Sonoma and it would stop the problem. Nope, it has not. So much for the geniuses at the Genius Bar. They said the next step would be to totally wipe my laptop and start from scratch. I really don't want to do that.

I found a solution, which was posted in a different discussion from a few months ago. I tried it, and so far (24 hours in), it is working. The solution is from this discussion: AddressBookSourceSync process is at 100% … - Apple Community

I thought that I had tried at all of the solutions offered on this discussion board, but I must have overlooked that one! Anyway, here's what it says to do. Pretty simple:

1) Turn off Contacts in your iCloud settings

2) Log out of your Apple ID

3) Reboot your machine

4) Log back in to your Apple ID

5) Turn on Contacts again in your iCloud settings
