Since I installed Sonoma 14.4 on my MacBook Pro m3 max I get multiple crashes and restarts with the described kernel panic.

I tried everything I could do without loosing all my data.

With Sonoma 14.3.1 there was not 1 single crash!

So i am sure apple has to release a new version without the kernel-panic-bug.

Have you tried installing the latest Dell U4924DW firmware from https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-bg/product-support/product/u4924dw-monitor/drivers? I did that, and it solved the problem for me. My M2 Ultra Studio used to crash several times a day, and since updating my U4924DW firmware a week ago I haven't had a single crash. I hope you have the same experience.

Try this to fix your MacBook Pro:

Update Software and Drivers: Ensure that your macOS and all related drivers (especially graphics drivers) are up to date.

Increase Available Memory: Check if there are too many applications running at once that might be consuming your system's resources. Closing some might help.

Review your Settings: Sometimes, adjusting the memory settings in Android Studio can prevent these types of errors. Increase the maximum available memory for the studio by adjusting the VM options.

Check System Logs: More detailed logs available in Console.app might give you further insight into what is triggering these panics.

Contact Apple Support: Since this error results in a kernel panic, it might indicate a more serious issue.

Contacting Apple Support or visiting an Apple Store could provide you with the necessary repair or further diagnostics.

It’s important to address these types of errors quickly as they might indicate underlying issues that could cause more significant problems if left unresolved.

If this is a problem localized to one (or even a small handful of) Apps, you need to get the App developer working with you to determine the underlying issue(s), just as leroydouglas has suggested.

Developers have MUCH more incentive to fix this or develop work-arounds. If it turns out to be Apple problem, Developers can apply more pressure than individuals.

I'm having the same kernel panic (DCPEXT1 PANIC - program_swap: Async Swap request landing on unsupported platform) on my M2 Ultra Mac Studio. It's a dedicated music studio machine, so also running Native Instruments stuff (as some others here have mentioned), as well as a Thunderbolt driver required to support a Focusrite Clarett 8Pre audio interface. The kernel panics only started after installing Sonoma 14.4.1, but prior to that I was having a very persistent and very annoying spinning beach ball problem -- many times an hour, actions involving any sort of disk I/O would cause a spinning beach ball hang that would last minutes (literally), but would almost always resolve if allowed to run their course (often 5-10 minutes). I have wondered if bad RAM might cause all my symptoms, but I've run hardware diagnostics (as well as disk utility First Aid, etc.) and my machine always passes with no errors. I sure hope Apple figures this out soon.

Oh, one other potential clue -- I am running a large external SSD configured as a RAID 0 disk (a 32TB OWC Thunderblade). Any chance this could be another point of commonality?

UPDATE THAT MAY HELP: After trying many things with no improvement, I started to think about the "DCP" part of "DCPEXT1 PANIC" and realized that if the Mac OS was telling we something funky was happening with the "display co-processor" (that's what the "DCP" part of "DCPEXT1" means) maybe I should be thinking more about things related to graphics processing and my display (a Dell U4924DW in my case). I checked to see if there was updated firmware available from Dell for my monitor, and sure enough, there was. I installed it five days ago and have been crash-free ever since. Not sure how many of you are having this kernel panic while using external monitors, but if you are, maybe check to see if there is a firmware update for your monitor?

After a complete duf system recovery at the Apple store, a memory panic still occurred on the same day using a backup recovery system from the time machine. There is no problem with hardware testing, and there is no problem with memory testing.

I'm getting such panics causing an immediate restart (with loss of all data)

reliably within seconds when using Cinema 4D on Sonoma 14.4.1
