FCP mask not following tracker exactly

I am trying to mask something from a video. I made a tracker and it follows the item perfectly. I then made a mask and applied the tracker to the mask. The mask follows the tracker, but not exactly. It seems to be trying to smooth out the moment, and therefore gets out of position. I guess there is a setting something to control this, but I can not find it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Example

--

1. I have a camera on a gimbal. Apply “Draw with Mask” to the red semi-transparent custom clip to hide the camera.

2. Analyze camera movement →Tracker name: Camera →Uncheck the adjustment.

3. Manually correct position of tracking data.

4. Sample video 1

5. Adjust the mask shape using keyframes.

6. Sample video 2

Thank you for the sample.😊 People who follow the FCP community will be notified by email of your posts. Links to threads may be deleted at the discretion of the moderator.

It is important to be able to modify the tracking data as shown in the example. Please refer to the above for how to do this. Anyone who uses the tracker function must have knowledge of modification. Because AI analysis is stupid.👎

Simply delete unnecessary keyframes in your data and move the tracker around in the viewer. I think anyone who can create keyframe animations with FCP can easily understand this.👍

Of course you can control it. In addition to adjusting the options in the tracker as Luis said, you can also manually modify the analysis data to adjust it.

What effect did you use to hide it? Please show me a screenshot of the effect inspector. Please press control+⌘4 to display the inspector vertically and take a photo. I would also like to see the tracker information at the bottom.

Thanks for getting back and sorry for not being clearer.

So my process is to take the clip, add a tracker, rename it, and hit analyse. At this point the tracker performs perfectly, sticking to the object exactly.

Then I add a solid black, the draw a mask to hide the item that has been tracked. Then with this clip highlighted I click the transform button, select tracker, select the saved track. Deselect scale and rotation. The mask immediately moves out of position at this point. I reposition it again to cover the item. However when I play the clip, the mask is moving, but it is not fixed to the tracker. It seems to be moving in its own world.

Here you can see a few frames in and the tracker and mask are no longer together. Both have moved, but just not in the same direction!

It seems like it should be so simple, but just cant work it out.
