What is IMTransferAgent?

I was checking my internet connections in the Little Snitch app and I found a macOS process connected to a server in Taiwan. I was worried about a connection that far and activated by a strange process on my computer. I thought firstly by searching on the web that it could be "malware".

I've found that is a kernel that runs behind the scenes to help other apps run. It is native (made by Apple) and linked to a messaging app on your computer, i.e. iMessage. This info I collected at the Tech with Tech website, visit here.

I read other posts in the community putting a lot of question marks about this application. Therefore, I decided to post this question again if anyone wishes to address additional information because there are very few sources about it on the internet.
