Is there a limit set to create notes on Mac?

Working with my Mac mini on the latest update of March 2024, I noticed I cannot create new notes, until I delete at least one. In other words, the new icon is not available until I delete at least one note. So what is the note limit?

There could be one or two reasons.

Both of which are associated with Empty Space

Have to delete one note to create a new note could be a Tip Off

Is the Notes application associated with a Cloud Based Service ?

Is the Empty Space on the Cloud based Service ?

Second would be Empty Space On MyMac if using the Keep Notes On My Mac feature

To check the Cloud Based Service Empty Space

Log into the Cloud Based Service and check if you have reached your Storage Limits

To check is the computer is running low on Empty Space

Disk Utilities >> View ALL Devices

In my case I use the Default and Free iCloud Service with the 5 GB Space Limit

In my case I have plenty of Empty Space On the Internal Drive of this computer

I have 89 notes and Notes resides entirely in iCloud which has 50gb and is not half full.

With that iCloud configuration and number of Notes, there should not be an issue

Have 129 Notes on 5 GB iCloud.

Never had to delete 1 to make another

That is on 4 Machines ( Sonoma 14.4 ) and 1 iPhone ( iOS 17.4 ) I own and operate
