Unable to see menu bar on MacBook Air

My menu bar is tucked way up and none of the menu bar is visible. I can scroll my mouse above my screen line and still get the drop-downs, but can't see the actual menu bar at all. Have tried rebooting, rebooting in safe mode, turning accessibility to reset zoom on restart in settings, etc. Nothing working. Please help! On latest, 14.4 OS.

Hello. hallie191, ***** . If you're experiencing an issue where the menu bar on your MacBook Air M1 2020 is not visible, even after trying various troubleshooting steps like rebooting and booting into safe mode, here are some additional steps you can try:

  1. Check Display Settings: It's possible that the display settings on your MacBook Air are set to an unusual resolution or scaling that is causing the menu bar to be hidden. Go to "System Preferences" > "Displays" and ensure that the resolution and scaling settings are set to default or a setting that fits your screen properly.
  2. Reset System Management Controller (SMC): Resetting the SMC can sometimes resolve display-related issues. To reset the SMC on your MacBook Air M1, shut down your Mac, then press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. Release the power button, then turn on your Mac again.
  3. Reset NVRAM/PRAM: Resetting the NVRAM/PRAM can also help resolve display-related issues. To reset the NVRAM/PRAM, shut down your Mac, then press and hold the Option, Command, P, and R keys simultaneously while turning on your Mac. Keep holding the keys until you hear the startup sound for the second time, then release the keys.
  4. Check Accessibility Options: Sometimes, certain accessibility options can affect the display behavior. Go to "System Preferences" > "Accessibility" and check if any settings, such as Zoom or Display, are enabled that might be causing the issue. Disable any unnecessary accessibility options and restart your Mac.
  5. Create a New User Account: Create a new user account on your MacBook Air and see if the issue persists when logged in as the new user. This can help determine if the problem is specific to your user account or system-wide.
  6. Update macOS: Ensure that your MacBook Air is running the latest version of macOS available. Apple regularly releases updates that include bug fixes and improvements, which may address display-related issues.
