Don’t delete same email from multiple accounts in iOS mail

I have multiple work email accounts on my iPhone, and some of the same emails come to multiple accounts. I used to be able to handle the same email that came into different accounts differently - e.g. delete it in one account and file it to a folder in another account. With iOS 17 this changed. Now whatever action I take first to an email carries over across all the accounts that email came in to. We use Gmail. This does not happen if I work in the Gmail app or on my computer in Thunderbird. Is there a way to turn this linking off? I don’t have any rules set that would do this.
