Apple Credit Card

I was interested in your “no fee” Apple Card, but in the fine print you said the following:

"Variable APRs for Apple Card range from 19.24% to 29.49% based on creditworthiness. Rates as of February 1, 2024. Existing customers can view their variable APR in the Wallet app or card.apple.com. Late or missed payments will result in additional interest accumulating toward your balance."

That sounds like fees to me! Can you clarify? Thanks

Randy R.

Fees, are not considered interest charges. Fees are no late fees, no foreign transaction fees, no annual fee, no returned payment fee, no over limit fee.

I understand that interest charges may be lumped into fees by many and it’s splitting hairs, but interest is classified as a charge.

Other charges may include balance transfers and cash advances, but the Apple Card does not permit either balance transfers or cash advances.

The interest rate is not a fee. All credit cards have an interest rate, but some will also charge you an annual fee or a late fee. There are other fees that some cards also charge, but none of those fees are charged to you with an Apple Card. Late or missed payments do accrue an extra interest charge because that is how interest works, but other cards charge a fee on top of the interest charge. Also just like other cards, if you pay off the full payment each month, you don't even occur an interest charge.
