Can my Apple ID be an e-mail address that I never use any longer?

If I currently have a yahoo email address as my Apple ID, can I keep it if I no longer use the Yahoo account?

Are you saying you don't use it? Or that the account no longer exists? If the account is still active and you have access to it, even if you don't use it much, you can still use that email address.

If the account is no longer active, you should change your Apple ID to a new email address. In the event you need to recover an account, not having a valid email address could be a problem.

Note: Do NOT create an entirely new Apple ID. Just change the email on the existing one.
