I have a iPhone 8s. Can I pair it with an Apple Watch

Can my new I phone watch 9 be paired to this phone?

Unfortunately, it cannot. A new Apple Watch will come with WatchOS 10 and that requires you own an iPhone which is capable of running iOS 17, which an iPhone 8 is not capable of running. You need a newer, more modern iPhone, which would need to be at least iPhone SE (2nd or 3rd Generation), Xr, Xs, 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15. Of those models, the only ones currently sold by Apple are iPhon SE 3rd Generation, iPhone 13 and any 15 model iPhone.
