Apps started crashing on iPhone after updating to iOS 17.4

So, at least I can now confirm that a complete "Reset of All" does work and the Problem for the moment seems gone...

AND: The recent 17.4.1 Update did NOT help!

Basic troubleshooting:

Restart, Reset, Restore from backup and Restore as new.

I’ve noticed this as well but on iPhone 13 pro. Something messes up at some point in the background and when it happens sharing or app linking will freeze the currently running app.

So in addition to sharing, something like clicking a link in my gmail app that should open another app on my phone instead freezes gmail.

Once this happens the only fix I’ve found is to restart my phone then everything will work for some time but then still eventually happens again.

Similar timing pushing 2/3ish months now on an iPhone 14 Pro of app crashes.

I use my phone at night for a baby monitor via the hatch app, 1ce /2x a week the app crashes after 5-10min and won’t work in the background streaming the audio.

I need to uninstall and reinstall then it’ll work fine for another few days-week. Frustrating as ever since this once flagship phone has been neutered by incapable software.

note has nothing to do with the hatch app as my wife’s iPhone 13 mini has not crashed once and she hasn’t needed to reinstall the app.

For me it's the same with certain app's only working once per every restart. And now the only answer we get is to reset the device, nice one. So even with the stuff being backed up and can be restored, not everything can. So I still have to fiddle around with my iPhone for at least 2-3 hours.

Very similar for me as well. Update to 17.4.1 last week. Even native apps like Messages won’t open photos, gif keyboard, etc. from the message line. Webpages won’t open and will just remain blank when clicking links that should open in Safari. The list goes on.

Has anyone found an answer yet?

I have an old iPhone 10X and same. It doesn’t matter which app I’m using it crashes and worse my entire phone freezes. I just assume md it was apple way of forcing me to buy a new phone. I would really like to uninstall this update.

You also have a device that is over 7 years old.

Yeah, no sht. But my phone was working perfectly until after the update, same issues as folks with newer phones.

And it has literally been proven that Apple uses software updates to slow down older phones. My assumption wasn’t out of nowhere. What was the point of your reply? It wasn’t helpful AT ALL.

I have an even worse story. I update to 17.4 on my iphone11 yesterday and last night my phone absolutely completely crashed. It will open to the swipe screen, hold a charge, but none of the buttons work. I have no clue how to resolve this because it won't even let me swipe to power it off.

The EXACT same happened to my phone this morning. I have an iPhone 12 mini. Worked perfectly before but now i can only see my start screen. It’s completely frozen - I can not restart, turn it of og swipe up the screen. It’s that picture or a completely black screen.

Uber (Rides) app will open and I can do everything I need to do. After I closed the app I decided to go back in and found same issues it goes to a blank black screen and dies; REPEATED EVERY RECOMMENDED / KNOWN FIX and did get it to launch. But, if I closed it again and reopened same thing - app opens says Uber and then goes blank (black) and dies - I've restarted my phone at least 10 times in the last 3 days to get Uber to open (and again if I closed and reopened it dies!) Uber Eats is fine though. IS THIS AN UBER OR APPLE ISSUE???????????

Same with my iPad 10th gen. with iPadOS 17.4.1 installed on it. Apps crashing all the time. I frequently have to restart the device because some apps open only once or twice. Very annoying and disappointing. Please Apple, do something! I do not want to reset my device if it is indeed a solution.
